Resonance Spiral documents the construction and inauguration of Mediateca Onshore, a hybrid community and screening space in the village of Malafo in Guinea-Bissau. Part of a decade-long project by filmmakers Filipa César, Sana na N’Hada, and Marinho de Pina, the Mediateca aims to reconstruct the audiovisual history of Guinea-Bissau’s liberation movement and make it accessible to the public. While conversing with nearby mangroves or documenting workshops in the structure, the filmmakers also contend with their own position, and explore the possibilities of crafting community through cinema.
